Every beat you make is stored on a server, and uploaded samples cost real money to keep. SESSION is how that gets paid for, and it's the reason the room stays small enough to be worth being in.
The threshold is a balance check, not a payment. Nothing is spent and nothing is locked up — hold the tokens and the machine opens, sell them and it closes.
Balance is checked on our server every few hours, never in your browser. If the chain's RPC is down, your last confirmed access stands — a bad network night doesn't lock you out of your own beats.

A module is a set of values for the synthesis engine — how far the kick sweeps, how long the hat rings, where the swing sits, what the bass reaches for. Load one and all sixteen pads become a different instrument. There are no audio files involved, so nothing to download and nothing to license.
Boom bap and trap come with the machine. The rest — drill, house, jungle, lo-fi — unlock by burning SESSION, which destroys the tokens rather than paying them to anyone. Burned tokens still count toward the 10,000 needed to play, so unlocking a module can't lock you out.
A plain ERC-20 with nothing clever in it. No owner, no mint function after deployment, no transfer tax, no pause switch, no blacklist. The contract cannot be changed by anyone, including the person who deployed it.
